We are The Crafting Crane

We are Nicole Cisch and Matt Richardson a Michigan based crafting and woodworking duo known as The Crafting Crane. We work together on a lot of our projects but many of the woodworking projects are run by Matt. Nicole runs most of the fiber projects. 

Why The Crafting Crane?

Why choose us? or why the name? Well we chose The Crafting Crane because we have a family of sandhill cranes that frequent the area by our workshop and we both loved the story of the crane wife. (or Tsuru no Ongaeshi from Japanese folklore) 

Why choose us? We focus on crafting premium projects from only the best quality materials and to the specifications that we work out with our clients. We try to use the highest quality local materials when possible and work to make projects that will last a lifetime with the proper care.
